This new trending "test" that's
supposed to be able to help you tell whether or
not you're beautiful is even more ridiculous
than usual.
Are you hot or not?
This is the question that plagues us all from
the moment we find out that, according to
society, beautiful is the most important thing
we can be; far more important than intelligent,
successful or kind.
Thankfully this simple, fool-proof test has been
devised and now you can know, for certain,
whether or not you're beautiful!
It's called the "finger trap test", and here's how
it works: If you can place your index finger
against your nose and chin, and your lips touch
your finger, you're beautiful.
If your lips cannot make contact with your
finger, you're ugly.
It's supposed to be based loosely on the 3.1
ratio theory, (which cosmetic surgeons use to
create the "perfect profile",) and it originates
(and is huge in) China, The Daily Mail reports.
Thankfully failing the test doesn't mean all is
lost. As Dr Mark Holmes says, saying it's a
sign of beauty is a stretch; it does not take into
account someone's energy or personality.
So if your lips don't touch your finger, don't
distress; you might not be completely hideous,
and if you are, well maybe you still have a
wonderful personality.
Yeah. Because "thigh gap" didn't give you
enough to worry about, and the "bikini bridge"
hoax wasn't ridiculous and infectious enough.
So here's an idea: Please can we not have this
trend spread across the world until models and
actresses are forever having bits of their faces
hacked off with badly-done Photoshop? Please
