President Barack Obama Jokes When He Met Prince Charles And Camilla That Americans Likes The Royal Family More Than US. Politicians

Well, maybe POTUS and FLOTUS should try
having a baby!
While meeting with Prince Charles and
Duchess Camilla today at the White House,
President Barack Obama noted the prevailing
enthusiam for all things royal on this side of
the pond, joking that Americans easily prefer
the royal family to their own elected leaders.
Or, he probably wasn't joking that much.
"I think it's fair to say that the American people
are quite fond of the royal family," Obama said,
per reports of their Oval Office chat. "They like
them much better than they like their own
politicians."
Well, Charles wasn't quite sure what to say to
that witicism, assuring Obama, "I don't believe
that," before changing the subject.
Vice-President Joe Biden was also present for
the fireside chat (or fireplace chat, since there
was no fire burning behind them), and all
present sat decorously apart--Obama and
Charles were on chairs while Biden and
Camilla sat on separate sofas on either side of
them.
Obama and Charles, who as the eldest son of
Queen Elizabeth II is first in line to the British
throne, hadn't seen each other in person for
almost four years, their last time meeting being
when the monarch visited America shortly after
son Prince William married Kate Middleton.
Nearly two grandbabies later... here they are
again!
Charles and Camilla toured Mt. Vernon, George
Washington's former home, yesterday. Before
heading to their date with Obama on Thursday
they visited President Lincoln's Cottage at the
Soldiers' Home, where the 16th president lived
part time during the Civil War while commuting
to to the White House, and then met with
veterans at the Armed Forces Retirement Home
in Washington, D.C.
