Armed Robbers Kill French Tourist Camping In Ebonyi

Police say armed robbers shot and
stabbed to death a French tourist who was
camping with his wife in the bush of Ebonyi
state.
Ebonyi state police commissioner Maigari
Dikko says the 62-year-old man from Lyon
was shot in the leg and then received lethal
blows from a machete.
He says the victim's 53-year-old wife was
unharmed.
She told police the robbers got away with €1
150.
After spending the day driving, the couple,
from Villedieu-sur-Indre in central France
went 2km off road to camp on Monday night
in their vehicle near a quarry. They were
attacked by several men at about 20:00 that
night.
Dikko said on Thursday police have made 32
random arrests based on information from
the community.
